JOHN CARROLL HIGH SCHOOL IS PROUD TO ANNOUNCE ADDITIONS TO ITS FACULTY

2017-04-06

John Carroll High School is proud to announce that Gina Daigle and Melissa McWhorter (1995 alumna) will be serving as guidance counselors at JCHS starting next fall. Also, alumni James Hebb (1996 alumnus) will be joining our faculty as the new physical education teacher, while continuing to serve as the boys’ basketball coach.

Mrs. Gina Daigle joins the JCHS family after serving St. Lucie County as a teacher and guidance counselor for the last 19 years. Having worked with high school students for numerous years will serve as an advantage, as she is an encourager and motivator. Daigle earned her Bachelors in Psychology in New York and a Master’s degree from Nova Southeastern in Guidance and Professional School Counseling. "I believe that all students should have an opportunity to live up to their potential. They should work hard, have fun, and always be grateful to God for their natural gifts, and the ability to be able to enhance those gifts and talents," said Daigle. Gina also serves as the JCHS swim coach and looks forward to continuing in this role. Mrs. Daigle is married to Pete Daigle, volunteers as the Bereavement Ministry Director for St. Anastasia Church, and has a daughter Casey, who is currently a sophomore at JCHS.

Mrs. Melissa (Richmond) McWhorter currently serves as a Guidance Counselor at St. Anastasia Catholic School. Melissa has been a guidance counselor for 16 years. Melissa completed her internship at JCHS and worked at UCF in their Mental Health Counseling Department as an intern, as well. “I am excited to be a part of the guidance team and scheduling classes that best suit the needs of each student. I look forward to assisting them as they transition from high school to college, as well, knowing they are set for success,” remarked Melissa. She and her husband Jeremy (1995 alumni) are the parents of Jason in Pre-K, Mary Anslee in Kindergarten, and Faye in 2nd grade at St. Anastasia. Melissa graduated with her Bachelor’s from FSU and from University of Central Florida with her Master’s degree in education, specializing in Mental Health Counseling and School Counseling. Melissa is also an active parishioner at St. Anastasia Parish.

Jimmy Hebb joins the JCHS faculty, after teaching at Northport K-8 since 2011. Hebb has been a teacher since 2000, and has earned teaching certificates in four states. The 1996 alumnus is currently the head boys’ basketball coach and looks forward to remaining in that role. Jimmy has also coached boys’ and girls’ track and was awarded the JCHS Coach of the Year in 2014. Hebb is married to Lauriann (Lowe), a 1996 alumna, and the couple has three boys, Nathan (2), Luke (5), and James (7), who attends Emmanuel Lutheran and Citrus Grove Elementary respectively. “I am excited to return to my alma mater and teach PE, in addition to coaching. I have a true passion for the mission at John Carroll and look forward to working with the high school students,” said Hebb.

JCHS is excited about these changes to its faculty as they prepare for the 2017-2018 school year. Please join us in welcoming the new members of our JCHS family as they transition to their roles at John Carroll High School.
