John Carroll High School is proud to launch its 2017 – 2018 Annual Giving Campaign, and the school is already seeing the generosity of its community. Last year the school was blessed by generous donors, who gave nearly $205,000! This support comes from parents, community members, alumni, employees, and supporters.

The Annual Giving Campaign is a coordinated effort by JCHS to raise funds that best serve its current and future students. The funds support the cost of academic and extracurricular programs, provide tuition assistance for students, attract and retain excellent teachers, fulfill the wish lists of the faculty and staff, and help balance the operating budget.

Tuition only covers approximately 80% of a JCHS education, and the school is blessed to have donors to help provide the remaining needed funds. Additionally, JCHS donors can choose to make an unrestricted gift or specify where their gifts will be allocated. Options include providing state-of-the-art technologies, instructional materials for students, capital improvements, or personalized scholarships to assist students in need of assistance.

Donation categories vary in size, and philanthropic options include gifts of cash, monthly payments, gift matching options, pledges, bequests, memorial gifts, gifts of securities, real property, in-kind donations, charitable remainder trusts, and personalized scholarships.

Gifts made to the 2016 - 2017 Annual Giving Campaign benefited tuition assistance for students, upgrading of security and fencing around the school, and the purchase of a new school bus.

Gifts made to the 2017-2018 Annual Giving Campaign will help the school in the following areas:

1. Tuition Assistance for Students:
Approximately one-third of our students are in need of financial assistance, and this past school year more than $200,000 was distributed to families. As a diocesan high school, we are solely funded through tuition and donations as JCHS is not directly subsidized by parishes or the diocese.

2. Upgrading the landscaping in the front of the school:
It is time for the school to have a “facelift” and improve its curb appeal. Updating the landscaping and improving the main entrance of the school would create a fresh look that would serve as a welcoming impression.

3. Student outreach and recruitment:
In an effort to attract and retain quality students from the three-county area, funds are needed to market JCHS in parishes, feeder schools, and in the community. This would assist with strategic efforts for recruitment through an Enrollment Management Plan.

Please know that dedicating a portion of your hard-earned resources to the school is always appreciated, valued, and recognized as a sincere act of generosity and stewardship. Donations can be made online at www.JohnCarrollHigh.com or by completing a donor form. Questions regarding donations can be directed to Jennifer M.
