John Carroll Catholic High School

John Carroll Catholic High School, located in Ft. Pierce, FL seeks a principal for the 2018-2019 school year. The school is a diocesan high school and enrolls nearly 400 students with a dedicated and professional staff of 41. The school is fully accredited by AdvanceED/Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. The Principal serves as the instructional leader of the school and supervises daily operations, emphasizing mission-driven, data informed decision-making.





The origin of school is connected to neighboring St. Anastasia School, which dates to 1916. In 1965, the current facility was built next to St. Anastasia School and Parish. The school was renamed in honor of Pope John XXIII and Bishop Coleman Carroll of Miami. The mission statement reads, "Guided by our Catholic faith and tradition, we recognize Jesus Christ as the model for the whole person we seek to develop. Our mission is to inspire the pursuit of educational excellence, foster character formation, develop a commitment to service, and affirm the dignity of each student entrusted to our care."

The successful candidate will:


- Be a practicing Catholic in good standing with the Catholic Church


- Hold a minimum of a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership (or related field)


- Hold or eligible for Florida Department of Education Administrative Certificate


- Have a clear vision and dedication to the values and philosophy of Catholic education.





Additional preferred requirements include:


- A minimum of three years of Catholic high school administrative experience


- Superior communication skills


- A collaborative leadership style to lead and embrace the mission of a 21st century Catholic high school


- Be knowledgeable in current areas of professional development and teacher supervision


- Exhibit excellent instructional and technological leadership.


- A reliable, insured vehicle and ability to travel to locations within the Diocese of Palm Beach.


- Ability to successfully complete a criminal history, background and driver’s license check.


- Be able to meet the Diocese of Palm Beach, Florida Department of Education, and accrediting agency requirements for principals.
