Spiritual Opportunities

All School Masses: John Carroll’s All School Masses are scheduled throughout the school year.  Parents, parish priests and youth ministers are welcome to celebrate Mass with our school community and are asked to check in at the front office.

A complete liturgical calendar will be posted in August 2019:

August 15, 2019: The Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary

September 26, 2019: Mass of the Holy Spirit with Bishop Gerald Barbarito, Presider

Penance Services:  John Carroll Penance Services are held twice a year during the liturgical seasons of Advent and Lent.  Many priests from our local parishes attend these special services and offer the Sacrament of Reconciliation to students, faculty and staff.

Days of Reflection: Students in each grade level are required to attend a Day of Reflection for their grade level during the school year. Days of Reflection take place during the school day and are not optional. These special days are designed to be a positive religious and social experience for all students in each class.  Parents and families of seniors are asked to write letters to their sons and daughters prior to their day of Reflection and will be collected by the Director of Campus Ministry for distribution on their special day.

Retreats:  Weekend retreats are offered to students in Grades 10-12. Participation is voluntary but highly encouraged. These spiritual encounters are a great opportunity to step away from the routines and stress of daily life and spend time with other JCHS students who share a desire to strengthen their friendships and relationship with God.
