• 3-Ring Binder and Notebook Paper
• Solid color (no black) 3-Prong Folder ($.10 variety)
• Blue or Black Ink Pens
• French-English…English-French dictionary (Recommended)
• Highlighter (recommended)
• 50 count index cards (recommended)

Academic Requirements
 Come prepared for class with textbook, notebook, workbook and supplies every day (including test days).
 Participate in all class activities cooperatively and enthusiastically. Learning French is Fun!!!
 Keep an organized notebook with all assignments, handouts and notes labeled neatly.
 Attempt to speak French as much as possible.
 Study/Review 20 to 30 minutes every night, regardless of written assignments.

Behavior
1. Treat Madame and your classmates with RESPECT and COURTESY at all times.
2. Raise your hand to be recognized before speaking. Talking, calling out, or other class disruptions will not be tolerated. Vulgar and rude language is not permitted in this classroom!

Violations of classroom policy will result in an after-school detention the following afternoon. Sport’s practice, employment, or the bus schedule will not excuse you from this detention.

Grading

Grading Policy

Tests – 40% of your grade. Students are required to take all tests. You may make-up the test if you have an excused absence. Make-ups will be done after school.

Quizzes – 30 % of your grade. Quizzes can be announced or unannounced.

Homework – 15 % of your grade.
HOMEWORK ASSIGNMENTS – All homework is due and will be collected at the beginning of class. No exceptions! If the assignment is not turned in at this time, you will receive a grade of zero.

* Students with an early dismissal (school or sport activity) are required to turn in that day’s work and get the next day’s assignment.
* Students may make-up homework assignments that are missed due to an excused absence.
* Completed homework can be corrected for an improved grade
*** Rewrite correct answer in complete sentence form on homework assignment or attach to homework assignment
*** Highlight new answer and return within 1 week.

Participation/Journal - Class Participation and Journal is worth 15% of your grade. Students will be given the opportunity to correct their journals. Journals will be kept in the classroom at all times.

Projects/Reports – Projects and Reports are considered test grades unless otherwise notified. Some may be counted as 2 test grades. They will be marked down 10 points a day for each day late.

Integrity – A grade of zero will be given to any student not following testing procedures. Plagiarizing from a book or an internet source will result in a grade of zero. Copying another student’s homework will result in a grade of zero. The administration will be informed immediately of these infractions.

Office Hours – I am available for extra help/explanations. Feel free to stop in my room before and after school…I am usually here!

Assignments

Homework assignments are posted daily in the Devoir(Homework) Folder located in the front of the classroom.
