JOHN CARROLL HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATING CLASS LEAVES LASTING MARK ON CAMPUS, WITH 100% ATTENDING COLLEGE AND OVER $8.8 MILLION OFFERED IN SCHOLARSHIPS
FORT PIERCE – The John Carroll High School graduating class of 2019 was offered $8,897,489 in academic and athletic college scholarships, with 100% of the class attending college in the fall.
John Carroll is an AP Capstone and college preparatory school, with resources readily available on campus to assist in college readiness. Valedictorian Dylan Breslaw received early acceptance to Notre Dame and Salutatorian Thomas Jochem is attending the United States Naval Academy. Students are also attending Stetson University, the University of Florida, Florida State University, and Cal Tech, among many others. The full list of colleges is available at johncarrollhigh.com.
Athletic signings include Jacob Hoeffner (Track and Field at Florida State University), Derica Gibson (Track and Field at Indiana Tech), VJ Saintfar (Football at Quincy), Bryce Bevins (Football at Robert Morris University), Samantha White (Softball at Southeastern Community College), Ashley Montoya (Softball at Lipscomb University), Zach Canton (Basketball at Pine Manor), Zach Rohrbough (Cross Country at Palm Beach Atlantic University), Trace McGuire (Golf at Roosevelt University), Kelsey Ward (Baseball at Embry-Riddle University), Tommy O’Sullivan (Baseball at Adelphi University), Brandon O’Brien (Baseball at College of Central Florida), Spencer Adderley (Baseball at St. Petersburg College), and Mason McIntosh (Baseball at Montgomery College – Germantown).
The graduating class held impressive GPAs with 23% of students earning a 5.0 or above, 37% with a 4.99-4.0, and 34% with 3.99-3.0. The top 15% of the class earned an average composite score of 1330 on the SAT.
With Student Government President Jack O’Leary leading the way, the graduating class left quite a legacy on campus, from fundraising for the courtyard’s new ram statue to raising the funds needed to revitalize the campus grotto.
“This year’s graduating class has thoroughly impressed us since the day they stepped foot on campus,” said Corey Heroux, principal. “One hundred percent of our graduates are attending college this fall, with over $8.8 million in scholarship offers. To say we are proud would be an understatement.”
