JOHN CARROLL HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATING CLASS OFFERED NEARLY $5 MILLION

IN SCHOLARSHIPS AND 100% ACCEPTED TO COLLEGE

FORT PIERCE – The John Carroll High School class of 2020 was offered $4,881,584 in academic and athletic college scholarships, with 100% of the class accepted to four-year colleges.

John Carroll is an AP Capstone and college preparatory school, with resources readily available on campus to assist in college readiness. Valedictorian Devan Fischbeck and Salutatorian Gabrielle Richards are both attending the University of Florida. Students are also attending the University of Miami, the University of Central Florida, Florida State University, Florida Gulf Coast University, Auburn University, the University of Alabama, Louisiana State University, and the Merchant Marine Maritime Academy, among many others. Athletic signings include Savion Baker (Football at St. Thomas University), Calvin Black (Football at Warner University), Enrique Crespo (Football at Aurora University), Nathan Gornitzky (Football at Westminster College), Bryce Shevak (Football at Ave Maria University), Jacob Boyd (Baseball at Lassen College), Tomas Rodriguez (Baseball at Lassen College), Luke Sammartino (Cross Country at Flagler College), Cammeo Presutti (Softball at Florida Atlantic University), Cameron Bates (Basketball at Mount Aloysius College), Gabrielle Levesque (Volleyball at Keiser University), and Vontravius Sands (Basketball at Trinity College).

The graduating class held impressive GPAs, with 18% of students earning a 5.7-5.0, 38% with a 4.99-4.0 and 35% with 3.99-3.0. The top 15% of the class earned an average composite score of 1270 on the SAT and a 27 on the ACT. Nearly 25% of the class received the Florida Bright Futures Scholarship, with 11% earning the Florida Medallion Scholars Award, which pays 75% of tuition to a Florida public college or university, and 14% earning the Florida Academic Scholars Award, paying 100% of tuition.

“One hundred percent of our graduates were accepted to college, with over $4.8 million in scholarship offers, not including the Bright Futures amounts. To say we are proud would be an understatement,”said Corey Heroux, principal.
