Beginning on Monday, Nov. 30, JC students and families are asked to donate items for residents living in our local nursing homes. These residents have certainly endured a long period of time without the company of their families and deserve a little extra love, support and prayers from our community. Take time during the Advent Season to pray for the elderly of our community and donate needed items to show our care and concern during the holiday season.

Items from the following list will be collected in all homerooms and the front office from Nov. 30 – Dec. 11. Please include student’s name with your donation. Please no used items.

4 items= 1 service point (Limit 5 points)

For men and women:

  • Liquid body Wash
  • Hand cream
  • Toothpaste
  • Soft toothbrush
  • Hair brush/comb
  • White tube socks
  • White T-shirts/undershirts
  • Larger piece puzzles
  • Playing Cards
  • Board Games
  • Soft throw blanket

In addition to our Advent service drive, students will be participating in a livestreamed Advent penance service from their third period classrooms on Tuesday, Dec. 1. Several parish priests will be located around campus to hear confessions and give blessings during the penance service.  Students are asked to wear their mass uniforms on Tuesday. As we prepare our hearts for the coming of Christ at Christmas, families are also encouraged to set aside time for daily prayer at home and to attend mass.
