Congratulations to the John Carroll High School winter athletes who were nominated for the Florida High School Athletic Association’s (FHSAA) Academic Team Champion Award Program! This program honors teamwork not only in competition but in the classroom as well. To be nominated for the award, the team must have a mean grade point average of 3.0.
Congratulations to the boys’ soccer team, which earned an average GPA of 3.578. Congratulations to players Brandon Goldstein (11th), Benjamin Santangelo (10th), and Matthew Utter (12th) who all earned a 4.0 GPA. The girls’ soccer team earned the team GPA of 3.356 with Kristyn Kramer (9th) and Allison Russakis (9th) earning a 4.0 GPA on the team.
The boys’ basketball team also exceled academically, earning a team 3.150 GPA, which was helped by Jack McGarry (12th) earning a 4.0 GPA. Congratulations to the girls’ basketball team for earning a 3.488 GPA and to Lauren Kenney (10th) and Kaitlin Zrallack (9th) for earning a 4.0 GPA.
John Carroll High School is proud to nominate teams every quarter for their exceptional student athletes. Congratulations once again to these winter student-athletes who performed with great success on the field and in the classroom! John Carroll has students, both Catholic and non-Catholic, from Palm Beach, St. Lucie, Indian River, Martin, and Okeechobee counties. The school is proud to offer 23 different sports teams for its student-athletes, plus an array of academic offerings, more than 20 clubs, and countless extracurricular events.
