Pi Day- This Friday, March 14th!
Mu Alpha Theta will be hosting its second annual Pi Day. The student body is encouraged to bring in canned goods with a goal of 314 cans. The students will participate at lunch time in a hula hoop contest, pie eating contest and recitation of the digits of Pi. Other activities will be a decorating pi symbol contest, scavenger hunt, “Let’s get to know 3-1-4 Better” game, and individual activities in the math classes encompassing the Pi concept. What would Pi Day be without pie—not a success! Students will be able to purchase pie at lunch time for $1 a slice. All money and canned goods collected will be going to St. Vincent DePaul Society to help feed those in need in our local community. When asked about Pi Day, treasurer of Mu Alpha Theta, Tommy Ageeb says, “It’s great to break from the everyday routine of school, allows students to have fun with math in their classes and of course, eating pie is a favorite of most students.”
