Athletes commit to play in college

Seven John Carroll High School senior athletes committed to continue to play their respective sports in college in the fall of 2019.

Five John Carroll baseball players signed to play college baseball on Nov. 14. Kelsey Ward signed with Embry-Riddle University, Tommy O'Sullivan with Adelphi University, Brandon O'Brien with the College of Central Florida, Spencer Adderley with St. Petersburg College and Mason McIntosh with Montgomery College – Germantown.

Softball player Ashley Montoya signed with Lipscomb University and golfer Trace McGuire with Roosevelt University on Nov. 15.

“I knew Roosevelt University was a perfect fit the second I met Coach Peter and the team. I feel very welcomed and believe Roosevelt can take my game to the next level,” McGuire said. “At the same time, I am very excited to pursue a commercial real estate degree in the Windy City of Chicago.”

Our athletes who signed work on their craft year round, and I am so thrilled that all of them get to further their education while playing the sport they love,” said Mickey Groody, athletic director and varsity football coach. “It's going to be exciting to see what they all accomplish at the next level. These athletes really help define what we do here at John Carroll - not only in the classroom but also on the athletic fields. It's an exciting time to be a part of JC Nation!”
