Congratulations to Bryce Shevak on recent award!

JOHN CARROLL HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT IS 2019
YOUTH, VIRTUES, VALOR AND VISION AWARD RECIPIENT

John Carroll High School junior Bryce Shevak, 16,was recently named a 2019 recipient of the National Catholic Educational Association Youth Virtues, Valor and Vision Award.

The National Catholic Educational Association (NCEA) created the awards program. Bryce received the award for the annual Lenten Food Drive Project he hosts with his brother, Austin, 13. Bryce is involved in numerous campus activities including varsity football and lacrosse. He is the Student Government Association junior class president and a St. Anastasia Catholic Church altar server. Bryce is also a member of the Students Against Destructive Decisions club, Rambassadors, yearbook staff and the National Honor Society.

“I truly enjoy service, because it is the easiest way to bring joy into so many lives,” Bryce said.

NCEA believes that ordinary people doing extraordinary work for the good of others is the force that can change the world.

Bryce will complete an essay that will appear in the summer edition of Momentum Magazine and on the NCEATALK blog.

“Bryce is so deserving of this award. We are always proud of all Bryce does to serve others,” said Corey Heroux, John Carroll High School principal. “Our John Carroll family is a faith community that strives daily to foster an environment for students to develop and become leaders.”
