The Norma T. Pace Scholarships are funded through the generosity of the Norma T. Pace Foundation through the Diocese of Palm Beach. Scholarships will be awarded by the principal of each participating school. Each school will have the opportunity for three scholarships in the amount of $3,000 per year. Students must maintain at least a “C” average in their classes, evidence of good citizenship, and service to the community in order to be eligible to receive the scholarship; these scholarships are awarded by JCHS and are available to students in all grade levels.
Awarded; no application necessary.
3. LUMEN CHRISTI SCHOLARSHIPS and SECOND COLLECTION SCHOLARSHIPS
Each year, the Diocese of Palm Beach allocates funds to each of its schools to be allocated as scholarships to families with demonstrated financial need through FACTs (or another comparable program). The individual scholarship amounts are at the discretion of the school but will be reported annually to the Office of Catholic Schools. All diocesan/parish schools receive a portion of the funds generated each year by the Lumen Christi Gala and the annual Second Collection for Catholic Schools in January. In order to receive scholarship funds from either of these Diocesan fundraisers, families must complete a FACTS Aid and Grant application for John Carroll High School. Awarded; no application necessary.
4. PALM BEACH DIOCESAN COUNCIL OF CATHOLIC WOMEN
The Palm Beach Diocesan Council of Catholic Women (PBDCCW) is pleased to offer a $1,000.00 High School Scholarship Award for the academic year 2022-2023. PBDCCW has been offering scholarships to outstanding young Catholic women for over fifteen years. 3. JOHN CARROLL HIGH SCHOOL TUITION ASSISTANCE
Due to the generous donations of our alumni, family, and friends of JCHS, we are able to assist qualifying students with tuition assistance. The application to apply for this assistance is through FACTS Aid and Grant. Roughly 50% of our students receive some level of tuition assistance from the school as a sign of our commitment to making Catholic education affordable for all. Awarded based on funding availability.
1. FLORIDA TAX CREDIT / FAMILY EMPOWERMENT SCHOLARSHIPS through Step Up For Students
Step Up For Students (SUFS) is a scholarship funding organization that helps provide the Florida Tax Credit and Family Empowerment Scholarship programs in which students can obtain tuition assistance for private school tuition and fees based on their family’s income. For the 2021-22 school year, a family of four could earn up to $99,375 annually to be eligible for a private school scholarship. The scholarship award amount is based on the county where the student lives and their grade level. New and renewing families, please visit www.stepupforstudents.org for more information. Both the Florida Tax Credit Scholarship and Family Empowerment Scholarship are the same application.
2. FAMILY EMPOWERMENT SCHOLARSHIP for Unique Abilities (Formerly McKay and Gardiner)
The Family Empowerment Scholarship for students with unique abilities provides eligible students a scholarship that can be used to purchase approved services or products to design a customized educational program for the student. This is NOT an income-based scholarship. Scholarships can be used for specialized services such as speech or occupational therapy, instructional materials, tuition at an eligible private school, contributions to a prepaid college account, and more. The FES-UA Scholarship also covers any students formerly enrolled in the McKay Scholarship program. Please login to www.stepupforstudents.org to see if your child qualifies. If you are a current scholarship family, please check your email regularly for updates on your scholarship renewal process.
The AAA Scholarship is an income-based scholarship provided to assist families with private school tuition, books, and fees. This scholarship uses the same income guidelines as the Florida Tax Credit and Family Empowerment scholarship. Please visit www.aaascholarships.org for further information and to apply.
1. ST. HELEN PARISH TUITION ASSISTANCE
This is for St. Helen parishioners only.
If some financial assistance would enable your child to attend JCHS for the 2022-2023 school year, St. Helen Parish would like to help you through the St. Helen High School Tuition Assistance Ministry. Interested parents may retrieve an application at the St. Helen’s Church Office. Questions regarding the program and dates may be directed to Teresita Collins at 772-696-0079.
2. MARIE PRIVUZNAK SCHOLARSHIP OF EXCELLENCE
This is for John Carroll rising juniors and seniors only.
Mrs. Marie Privuznak, an icon of Catholic school education, spent 46 years championing the parochial school experience for the Diocese of Palm Beach. We are so thankful to Mark and Karen Rodgers who spearheaded and funded this incredible opportunity for four John Carroll students, and we are excited to offer this scholarship for the upcoming 2022-2023 school year.
The four recipients of the Marie Privuznak Scholarship of Excellence will be current John Carroll juniors/rising seniors who have exhibited exemplary effort in all areas that create a sound and balanced Catholic school education. Each scholarship recipient will be awarded $2,500 toward their tuition at John Carroll High School their senior year.
Interested students may begin the application process by picking up an application and a number from Mrs. Remsen in the front office. Students will need to complete the application and secure a completed evaluation form from three current John Carroll teachers and coaches, who can attest without hesitation to the student’s work ethic, values, and appreciation for attending John Carroll High School. The applications will undergo a blind review by a committee designated by Mrs. Heroux. The selected recipients will be announced at the underclassmen award night on April 27, 2022. Deadline: April 11, 2022.
