- LUMEN CHRISTI SCHOLARSHIPS and SECOND COLLECTION SCHOLARSHIPS
Each year, the Diocese of Palm Beach allocates funds to each of its schools as scholarships to families with demonstrated financial need through FACTs (or another comparable program). The individual scholarship amounts are at the school’s discretion but will be reported annually to the Office of Catholic Schools. All diocesan/parish schools receive a portion of the funds generated each year by the Lumen Christi Gala and the Second Collection for Catholic Schools in January. To receive scholarship funds from either of these Diocesan fundraisers, families must complete a FACTS Aid and Grant application for John Carroll High School. Awarded; no application necessary.

STATE SCHOLARSHIPS:
- FLORIDA TAX CREDIT / FAMILY EMPOWERMENT SCHOLARSHIPS through Step Up For Students
Step Up For Students (SUFS) is a scholarship funding organization that helps provide the Florida Tax Credit and Family Empowerment Scholarship programs in which students can obtain tuition assistance for private school tuition and fees based on their family’s income. For the 2022-2023 school year, a family of four could earn up to $111,000 annually to be eligible for a private school scholarship. Dependent children of law enforcement officers, reservist or an active-duty member of the United States Armed Forces are eligible regardless of income. New and renewing families, please visit www.stepupforstudents.org for more information. Both the Florida Tax Credit Scholarship and Family Empowerment Scholarship are the same application.
- FAMILY EMPOWERMENT SCHOLARSHIP for Unique Abilities
The Family Empowerment Scholarship for students with unique abilities provides eligible students a scholarship that can be used to purchase approved services or products to design a customized educational program for the student. This is NOT an income-based scholarship. Scholarships can be used for specialized services such as speech or occupational therapy, instructional materials, tuition at an eligible private school, contributions to a prepaid college account, and more. The FES-UA Scholarship also covers any students formerly enrolled in the McKay Scholarship program. Please login to www.stepupforstudents.org to see if your child qualifies. If you are a current scholarship family, please check your email regularly for updates on your scholarship renewal process.
The Family Empowerment Scholarship is also available for siblings of FES-UA scholarship students. If a student receives FES-UA, their sibling will qualify for the FES-EO scholarship, and this sibling eligibility scholarship is not income-based. Once the FES-UA student is awarded the scholarship, a parent would apply for FES-EO for any siblings in the same family. More information can be found at www.stepupforstudents.org.
- AAA
The AAA Scholarship is an income-based scholarship provided to assist families with private school tuition, books, and fees. This scholarship uses the same income guidelines as the Florida Tax Credit and Family Empowerment scholarship. Please visit www.aaascholarships.org for further information and to apply.
