Dear JCHS families,
Please read the attached letter (please see Download PDF button to the left) from Diocesan superintendent, Mr. Gary Gelo, with a Diocesan update on schools reopening in August. At this time, the Diocese continues to carefully monitor the progression of the novel coronavirus and has begun to outline priorities for re-opening, as well as to assemble a task force of principals who are working on a more detailed plan that will be released in the coming weeks. I ask that you please read through this letter in its entirety, as it contains many important details. As stated in the letter, it is our sincere hope that the information in this letter provides our families with some clarity as to the Diocese’s – and John Carroll’s – intentions for the fall.
Here at JCHS, plans are underway for a safe and healthy return to campus on August 10, 2020, as we look forward to having our students back on campus again. In addition to the Diocesan general plan for reopening, we are also working on a school-specific plan that will be shared in the coming weeks with more details on the health and safety precautions we will be taking in order to safely bring our students back to school. Please know that our plan will remain fluid and will respond to changes that we see in our local community over the coming weeks and months, as we move through the different phases of reopening as a state. Due to the fluid nature of this situation, I respectfully ask that you please give us some time to communicate our plans to you before emailing us with specific questions.
Thank you again for all of your patience and understanding as we navigate this situation together. I remain so proud of how our JCHS community has responded over the last few months, and I know that we will continue to work together, supporting one another with love, as we bravely face all that God has in store for us. Let’s continue to pray for God’s protection of our community from all illness and for renewed strength at this time.
Looking ahead in hope,
Mrs. Corey Heroux, Principal
