Academics

John Carroll High School’s academic program is comprised of seven, 45-minute class periods a day, with the option to add additional fine arts classes during a “zero hour” before school. John Carroll maintains high academic standards and expectations for all students; therefore, the school offers Advanced Placement, dual enrollment, honors, and academic classes. There are strict guidelines and prerequisites that a student must meet in order to participate in an AP classes; the school does this to ensure a high level of academic rigor in these classes and make sure all students are prepared to meet the demands of an AP course. Eight dual enrollment classes are offered on campus through a partnership with Indian River State College, and students can also elect to take additional dual enrollment classes off campus.

The AP classes offered are: Biology, Calculus AB, Calculus BC, Chemistry, English Literature and Composition, English Language and Composition, Environmental Science, Human Geography, Physics, Psychology, Research, Seminar, Spanish, Statistics, US History, US Government, World History.
