My name is Mickey Groody, and I am honored to serve as your Athletic Director and Varsity Head Football Coach. Our athletic department is dedicated to fostering a culture of excellence, sportsmanship, and personal growth. We believe that participation in sports plays a crucial role in the holistic development of our students, teaching them valuable life skills such as teamwork, discipline, and resilience.

Mickey Groody
Athletic Director and Varsity Head Football Coach
Kathy Nesmith brings over 30 years of experience in education and athletic training to JCHS. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Physical Education and Sport, with an emphasis in Athletic Training, from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and West Chester University. Kathy is a certified and licensed athletic trainer with a specialty in orthopaedics, focusing on the assessment and diagnosis of injuries.
After moving from Pennsylvania, she has served as a Certified Athletic Trainer in St. Lucie County for the past 26 years, providing expert care and rehabilitation services to help student-athletes safely return to play. At JCHS, she is actively involved in supporting athletic programs by observing sports to better understand injury mechanisms and guide recovery.
Originally from Windber, Pennsylvania, Kathy enjoys spending her free time at the beach and traveling.
