John Carroll maintains high academic standards and expectations for all students; therefore, the school offers Advanced Placement, dual enrollment, honors, and academic classes. There are strict guidelines and prerequisites that a student must meet in order to participate in AP classes; the school does this to ensure a high level of academic rigor in these classes and makes sure all students are prepared to meet the demands of an AP course. Dual enrollment classes are offered on campus through a partnership with Indian River State College.
The AP classes offered are: Biology, Calculus AB, Calculus BC, Chemistry, English Literature and Composition, English Language and Composition, Environmental Science, Human Geography, Physics, Psychology, Research, Seminar, Spanish, Statistics, US History, US Government, World History.

The goal of our education is to help each student succeed to his or her fullest potential. As a college preparatory school, we seek to provide each student with the appropriate course load balanced with the student’s potential to earn exceptional grades, college admittance, and subsequent success in college coursework. Teachers, guidance counselors, and administrators work together to place students in the appropriate courses for success. The final decision for student courses rests with the administration.
