Kathleen Remsen

Mrs. Kathleen Remsen brings a lifetime of experience, dedication, and real-world knowledge to the John Carroll High School community. With what she describes as “over 40 years of real-world education,” Mrs. Remsen has been learning and working since she was 13 years old, building a diverse professional background rooted in service, organization, and leadership.

She began her higher education journey at Northeastern University and has completed coursework at various colleges and universities throughout the years. While she did not pursue a degree, her extensive professional experience and commitment to lifelong learning have shaped a successful and rewarding career.

Mrs. Remsen spent many years working as an Administrative Assistant supporting presidents, vice presidents, directors, and sales and marketing professionals. Her favorite professional development experience was participating in the Franklin Covey Time Management courses, whose practical strategies and organizational principles she continues to use today.

Outside of school, Mrs. Remsen is devoted to her family. She has been happily married to her husband, Jay, for more than 25 years and is the proud mother of Jillian (John Carroll Class of 2021) and Alex (Class of 2029). Originally from Ronkonkoma, New York, she was raised on Long Island and relocated to Florida in 2014 after her husband retired from the New York City Police Department.

Mrs. Remsen has also dedicated approximately 10 years as a volunteer leader with Scouting America, helping young people develop leadership skills, character, and confidence. In her free time, she enjoys creating and experimenting with new crafts, but her favorite place to be is at home spending quality time with her husband and children.

One of her favorite fun facts comes from her time working as a college “bellman,” when she had the unique opportunity to deliver a dormitory refrigerator to future NHL star Zdeno Chara at the beginning of his career with the New York Islanders.
