Rebecca Dempsey
Ms. Rebecca Dempsey brings 24 years of experience in science education to John Carroll High School, where she has dedicated her entire teaching career. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Entomology and a Master of Science in Science Education, both from the University of Florida, and is certified in 6–12 Life Science Education.
At JCHS, Ms. Dempsey serves as the Young Floridian Advisor, recognizing standout high school seniors for achievement, leadership, and community service.
Originally from Port St. Lucie, Ms. Dempsey is a proud mother of two accomplished John Carroll graduates. Her son, Wyatt, is 21 and currently serves as a submariner in the U.S. Navy, stationed in Honolulu, Hawaii. Her daughter, Lyndy, is 19 and a junior at Ohio Wesleyan University, where she is pursuing a degree in physical therapy.
Outside of school, Ms. Dempsey enjoys spending time outdoors and staying active. Her hobbies include going to the gym, relaxing at the beach, traveling, watching movies, reading, hiking, fishing, and attending concerts. A true nature enthusiast, she especially loves surfing and finds joy in all things outdoors.
