Rebecca Ansted
Rebecca Ansted brings 22 years of experience in mathematics education and instructional leadership to the JCHS community. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Math Education from the University of Akron and a Master of Education in Assessments and Measurements from Ashford University. She holds certifications in Integrated Mathematics for grades 7–12 in Ohio and grades 6–12 in Florida.
Throughout her career, Rebecca has been deeply committed to improving student achievement and strengthening curriculum development. She has served as Department Chair at Lima Senior High School of Multiple Intelligences, Elida High School, Cardinal Newman, and John Carroll High School. Her leadership experience reflects a dedication to collaboration, innovation, and high academic standards.
Rebecca has completed extensive professional development, including training in differentiation, Marzano literacy strategies, prioritizing standards, literacy across the curriculum, vertical alignment, Understanding by Design (Backwards by Design), standards-based learning, multiple intelligences, and Depth of Knowledge (DOK). These approaches guide her instruction and help ensure all students are supported and challenged.
Rebecca is married to her husband, Sean, and they have three daughters: Harper, Peyton, and Riley. Outside of school, she enjoys baking and has a passion for art, influenced by her years attending a performing arts middle and high school. A fun fact about Rebecca is that she once considered becoming a pastry artist before pursuing her career in education. Originally from Akron, Ohio, she brings creativity, expertise, and enthusiasm to her work with students.
